Two Parks. One Perfect Trip.

Most people pick Zion or Bryce Canyon. From Starlit Ridge you can do both — we sit 42.6 miles from Zion and 39.7 miles from Bryce, right on US-89 at Long Valley Junction. You drive to a world-class park in the morning and come home to a dark-sky cabin and a wood-fired cowboy tub at night.

This guide gives you a real day-by-day plan for 2 to 7 days, built around three travel styles — Family, Moderate, and Adventure. Pick your trip length, pick your vibe, and you've got a complete itinerary. The full trails guide has detail, distance, and tips for every activity listed here.

Three Zones, One Simple System

Every day falls into one of three zones. The golden rule: never do Zion and Bryce back to back. An in-between day isn't filler — it's how you arrive at each park fresh, and it's often the day people remember most.

🔴 Zion Day

Big adventure. Start early, push your limits, hydrate constantly. Arrive before 8 AM — lots fill fast and summer heat can hit 100°F.

🟠 Bryce Day

Scenic and moderate. Sunrise views, hoodoo hikes, scenic drives. At 7,764 ft it's dramatically cooler than Zion — bring layers even in summer.

🟢 In-Between

Rest, hidden gems, hot tub, stargazing. Slot canyons, Cascade Falls, Cedar Breaks, Navajo Lake — all within 45 minutes. Never skip these days.

Family, Moderate, or Adventure

Before you look at any itinerary, decide what kind of trip this is. Every plan is built around one of these three styles.

👨‍👩‍👧

Family

Paved trails, short distances, kid-friendly stops. Narrows Riverside Walk, Emerald Pools, Pa'rus Trail, Rim Trail, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Old Bryce Town. Nobody gets left behind.

🥾

Moderate

The classic experience. Narrows to Mystery Falls, Queens Garden + Navajo Loop, Mossy Cave, Willis Creek Slot Canyon. Solid miles without needing to be an athlete.

⛰️

Adventure

Angels Landing permit, Narrows to Big Springs, Fairyland Loop, canyoneering, the Wave lottery, North Rim Grand Canyon. Full days, big miles, type-2 fun.

Pick Your Length & Your Vibe

Choose your trip length, then choose your style. Every activity is real and drawn from the trails & hiking guide — nothing invented, nothing padded.
