About
Starlit Ridge
Seven cabins, dark skies, and two national parks at your door. Here's who we are and what to expect.
How It Started
Starlit Ridge started the way the best ideas do — a group of friends who worked hard and believed in playing even harder. We wanted a real escape for our families: somewhere remote enough to feel like a different world, close enough to two of America's greatest national parks to make every day count.
The first cabin opened in 2022. Our families kept growing, our love for southern Utah deepened, and one stay became two, then seven. What started as a way to share costs with people we trusted turned into a genuine passion for hospitality and the outdoors.
We believe in working hard — and playing even harder. Starlit Ridge is exactly that: a basecamp for adventure, built by people who use it themselves and want every guest to leave feeling the same way we do every time we pull off UT-14 and see that sky.

The Property
Starlit Ridge Basecamp sits at the intersection of US-89 and UT-14 in Long Valley Junction (Alton), Utah — about 40 miles from both park entrances. At ~8,000 feet elevation across 33 acres, you're under some of the darkest skies in the continental United States.
The property is managed by Jerny Destinations, focused on authentic outdoor lodging in the American West. Seven stays sleep 3 to 8 guests each — or book the entire property for groups of 32+. Our signature experience is the wood-fired cowboy soaking tub, with Unit 2 (Woodland Hills) featuring a year-round 9-person electric hot tub.

Check-in & Stay Policies
Fire & Safety
Southern Utah is fire country. We take fire safety seriously and ask that you do too.
Cowboy tubs & campfires: Always fully extinguish fires before sleeping or leaving your site. If it's too hot to touch, it's not out. Firewood is available for purchase at the property — please carry it to your tub and cut to size as needed.
Fire restrictions: Active fire restrictions may be in effect during your stay, particularly July through September. Check current restrictions with the Dixie National Forest at fs.usda.gov/dixie before lighting any fire outdoors.
Wildlife: Trail cameras on the property have recorded coyotes. Keep small pets supervised at dawn and dusk. Do not leave food outside unattended.
Emergency: Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch is 28 miles away. Cell service can be limited — download emergency contacts and offline maps before arriving.
